OHSAS 18001 has been developed to ensure the compatibility with the ISO 9001 (Quality) and ISO 14001 (Environmental) management systems standards, in order to facilitate the integration of quality, environmental and occupational health and safety management systems by organizations, should they wish to do so. OHSAS 18001 focuses on risk and control methods only,whereas ISO 45001 focuses on risk as well as opportunities to improve. I will briefly explain the 4.3.1 clause of OHSAS 18001, pertaining to risk management, for better understanding before we move forward. ISO 45001 (OHSAS 18001) is very similar to ISO 14001, but instead of managing environmental issues, 45001 focuses on managing Occupational Health and Safety concerns.
